My name is Pat Ehlen and I have been in the banking and mortgage business for over 30 years.  I am married for 37 years to a fabulous wife and have been blessed with 4 great kids.   I moved from New York about 5 years ago and can tell you the Grand Strand is a wonderful place to live.

  I got into the mortgage business because I enjoy helping  my clients through the mortgage process.  It is a real source of pride to help people purchase a home and have them feel knowledgeable in the process.  The best way to be comfortable with buying a home is to really understand what is happening and why.

  The process of buying a home and getting the financing can be very stressful.  Most people are not sure what needs to be done and how to go about getting the loan even when they are sure they are qualified.   It is even harder for people that have never purchased a home and fear all the horror stories they have heard about the buying and financing process.

I work very hard to try to make the process as stress free as possible.  The best way to do this is to explain to my clients, in regular words, what they can expect  as we go through the process and explain all the costs involved in simple terms.  I spend a lot of time explaining ALL the costs, not just the banks.  I also explain what goes into interest rates and how to get the best rate possible.
